About

Lee DeYoung coaching at the 1998 Blank Blank Seminar

In my life I have been very fortunate and privileged to have made friends and developed relationships with many of the tennis world’s leading players, coaches, and industry leaders.  The knowledge I received from these winners has been profound and I can only imagine how my tennis career might have been different as a player and as a teacher had I been exposed to this type of knowledge in my earlier years.  It is my sincere wish that these interviews are of benefit to you at whatever your stage of development as a player, coach, or industry professional. The reason this is called a Legends Legacy Project is that the plan is to keep this site posted for the next 50 years so that future generations will have access to this knowledge.  More Legends interviews will be forthcoming and the site will be improved and updated as technology evolves. The future plan is to translate this site into different languages for global access as our sponsorship and funding increases.  Most people never have a chance to spend many hours with Grand Slam champions, legendary coaches, and industry giants and ask them intimate, insightful questions about how they became champions, or how they coached and groomed champions, or how they built or ran a global tennis company.  When I approached some of these friends and colleagues about my vision of giving unfettered access to anyone to their life’s work, I was met by an enthusiastic yes by most everyone.  These interviews are gifts given by those who have achieved the most and who are giving back to the game as they have done their entire life.  The information is not only valuable and useful but some of the interviews are very inspirational.  I have known most of these legends for decades and yet I was stunned by some details that were so graciously and intimately offered for the first time.  You may want to view these interviews multiple times because there is a copious amount of information in each one.  Even though I filmed and conducted these interviews I find myself learning something new each time I view them again.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why do you need my email address?  Why not just post these on YouTube?

With the technical features and benefits I wanted to provide such as podcasts, poi markers, and comparative analytics, it was only possible to do this on a dedicated web site.  I wanted to provide a platform where you could cherry pick and watch as little or as much as you wanted.  I would however urge you to watch each interview in it’s entirety for there is very little dead space and you will be surprised how much meaningful information there is in each segment.

Will my email address ever be shared or sold.

NEVER

Will I ever need a credit card to watch the interviews in the future?

NEVER.  THEY WILL ALWAYS BE FREE.

Why is there a 50-year plan to keep these interviews posted?

Because they will be as valuable and relevant to future generations as they are now. As technology advances we will work to continuously upgrade the interviews on line.

How many more interviews will be posted?

There will be many more but I can’t give a number right now.  There are enough qualified friends and colleagues as Legends Legacy interview prospects that I could stay busy for years.  The cost for each interview and the technical support is considerable and as I create additional funding the interviews will increase.

Will I get flooded with offers when I sign on to view the interviews?

NO. - You may get a newsletter once a month or so that may contain instructional articles, projects or events relative to the Legends project, or industry news that may prove useful.   At any point you may opt out if you wish.
